Registered end users of the Abatron probe that have current software update support are eligible for any firmware updates that become available. USI sends a download link to the registered end user(s) to obtain the latest updates. FAQ-00021 - How is the Abatron firmware licensed?
Against payment of a license fee the client receives a usage license for this, which is not exclusive and cannot be transferred. The client is entitled to make copies according to the number of licenses purchased. Copies exceeding this number are allowed for storage purposes as a replacement for defective storage mediums. The agreement includes free software maintenance (update and support) for one year

FAQ-00022 - How is LinuxScope licensed?
Users who wish to use LinuxScope-JTD may purchase a valid license key from Ultimate Solutions or a licensed reseller. A single-user license entitles users to install the software on any number of computers. In addition the software may be used on multiple targets for no additional fees. The license key is tied to the USB or Ethernet MAC ID of JTAG probe you intend to use. Today we support the BDI2000 and BDI3000 BDM/JTAG probes from Abatron, as well as the ZY1000 JTAG Probe from Zylin.Hits : 73
FAQ-00023 - Can I switch between two different processor families using the same BDI Probe?
Yes, but you would need to install the firmware for your new processor family onto the BDI as the BDI probe cannot be configured with more than one firmware configuration at one time. Here are some instructions on setting up the firmware:
Start by unzipping the firmware into a folder on your hard drive. It is important that all the files get unzipped and the directory structure stay preserved. Connect the BDI to the serial port and launch the bdisetup utility to flash the BDI with the desired target firmware. Here you will specify a host IP address. This points to the TFTP server where the BDI will pull its initial configuration file. Make a note of the IP address you assign, as you will need it again later. When operating the BDI from a Windows host, you will need to specify the full path and file name for the location of the configuration file. However, when operating the BDI from a Linux host you will only need to specify the path and file name relative to the tftpboot directory that is set as an environment variable.
